PERKESO's AI-Driven Anti-Fraud Unit Uncovers Daya Kerjaya False Claims

Date:

The Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) has uncovered fraudulent claims under its Daya Kerjaya employment incentive programme through an AI-driven internal monitoring system, leading to a series of arrests in cooperation with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

PERKESO group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said the discovery proves the effectiveness of the AI-driven monitoring system under its Anti-Fraud, Ethics and Integrity (AFEI) division.

"Every irregularity will be followed up with immediate action by a special task force that conducts field intelligence to verify whether the claim is legitimate or contains elements of fraud," he said in a statement on Monday.

Since late 2024, PERKESO's AFEI has been gathering evidence before submitting information to the MACC for enforcement and arrests. The close cooperation between the two agencies operates under Ops Tunjang.

The operation has led to the exposure of fraudulent activities under both the Daya Kerjaya 1.0 and 2.0 schemes. The investigation has also uncovered white-collar criminal fraud activities involving medical practitioners.

Mohammed Azman said PERKESO does not compromise on fraud cases. "Through the technology available within AFEI, every claim will be subject to strict monitoring," he said.

The Daya Kerjaya programme is a government employment incentive scheme designed to encourage hiring and job creation. Related reporting has cited MACC uncovering false claims involving RM9 million in Daya Kerjaya 2.0 funds.

PERKESO said it will continue to work with authorities and take firm action to combat misappropriation of social security funds meant for contributors and their dependents.
