The most comprehensive model update in BMW's history has entered series production at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, bringing Neue Klasse technologies to the flagship luxury sedan for the first time, BMW announced.
According to a press release from the BMW Group, the new BMW 7 Series incorporates innovations originally developed for the Neue Klasse electric vehicle architecture into the existing luxury sedan portfolio. The fully electric BMW i7 benefits from greater range and faster charging capabilities as part of the update.
BMW describes the new 7 Series as a convergence of "progressive luxury" and Neue Klasse technologies, combining high-tech digital features with traditional craftsmanship to deliver maximum customization and exclusivity. The update touches every aspect of the vehicle, from powertrain and chassis to interior design and digital user experience.
The Dingolfing plant in Bavaria serves as the lead facility for BMW's luxury-class production, handling the 7 Series, i7, and related models. BMW Group CEO Milan Nedeljković has emphasized the importance of the Dingolfing site in BMW's strategy to electrify its model lineup while maintaining production flexibility for combustion, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains on the same assembly lines.
BMW noted that the 7 Series update represents the most extensive model upgrade in the company's history in terms of technical scope, integrating Neue Klasse innovations — including the new BMW Operating System and next-generation driver assistance systems — across the existing portfolio.
