Actress Nana Sees Justice as Home Intruder Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison

Date:

South Korean actress and singer Nana has seen justice served after a court sentenced the man who broke into her home and committed an armed robbery to seven years in prison.

The 1st Criminal Division of the Uijeongbu District Court Namyangju Branch handed down the sentence on June 9 to the defendant, identified only as A, on charges of robbery resulting in bodily injury.

The court explained its reasoning: "The victims are reporting severe mental and physical distress and are requesting a stern punishment. As this is a serious crime that violated the peace of a residence, it is necessary to hold the defendant strictly accountable."

Judge findings determined that A committed the crime while in possession of a weapon, based on consistent testimonies from the victims and evidence showing the defendant had searched online for information about punishments for carrying weapons prior to the incident.

"Considering the gravity of the crime, in which the defendant broke into a private home at night while armed with a weapon, a punishment commensurate with his actions is necessary," the court stated.

The court also ruled that injuries sustained by the defendant during the incident were the result of Nana acting in self-defence, consistent with the police ruling.

The case dates back to November 15, 2025, when Guri Police Station arrested the man for breaking into Nanas home, threatening both the actress and her mother with a weapon and demanding money. Nana and her mother managed to subdue the armed intruder, though both sustained injuries in the struggle, according to her agency SUBLIME.

Nana, best known as a former member of After School and for her acclaimed roles in Kill It and Oh My Ladylord, has since returned to her professional activities following the ordeal.
