Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Tipped to Keep Same 11,600mAh Battery as Predecessor

Date:

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra alongside the Galaxy Tab S12+ later this year, possibly in September, and early leaks suggest the top-end tablet will retain the same battery capacity as its predecessor.

According to a new report, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will ship with an 11,600mAh battery, identical to the Tab S11 Ultra that launched in 2025. Since it appears to be the same battery pack, charging speeds are also expected to remain at 45W wired, matching the previous generation.

The 14.6-inch display is expected to be retained, keeping the Tab S12 Ultra as one of the largest Android tablets on the market. The device will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, marking a continued shift away from Qualcomm Snapdragon chips in Samsung tablet lineups.

On the software front, both the Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ are expected to ship with Android 17 with Samsung One UI 9 out of the box. A 12MP front camera is also tipped for both models.

Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is said to come with a larger battery than the Tab S10+ it replaces. Samsung has been alternating between launching a standard model and a Plus variant each year, meaning there was no Galaxy Tab S11+ last cycle.

The retention of the same battery capacity in the Ultra model may disappoint users who were hoping for a meaningful upgrade. However, the Dimensity 9500 chipset could offer improved power efficiency, potentially extending real-world battery life even without a larger cell.

Pricing and exact launch dates have not been confirmed. Samsung typically announces its flagship tablets alongside new foldable devices at its Galaxy Unpacked events.
