BMW Motorrad announces model year 2027 updates with new frames, colors, and equipment packages
BMW Motorrad has unveiled its model year 2027 update program, introducing a range of new colors, equipment packages, and technical upgrades across its motorcycle lineup. The updated models will be available for order from BMW Motorrad partners starting August 2026, the company announced on July 2.
According to a press release by BMW Group, the headline update comes for the S 1000 RR superbike, which now features a new M Motorsport frame as standard equipment. The revised frame offers clearly improved flex properties while reducing weight by approximately 1.3 kilograms, achieved through a roughly 30 percent reduction in wall thickness. BMW Motorrad said the precisely tuned stiffness and flexibility deliver an optimal chassis for track-focused riding. The S 1000 RR also comes standard with M Forged Wheels, with M Carbon Wheels available as an alternative package option.
New M Track Package and M Track Package II options are introduced across the S 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and M 1000 XR model lines. The M Track Package includes the M Endurance Chain, Carbon Package, M Billet Package, and M Carbon Wheels, while the M Track Package II bundles the M Endurance Chain, Carbon Package, and M Billet Package. The previous M Competition Package is discontinued for these models.
For the K 1600 series, including the K 1600 Bagger and Grand America, BMW Motorrad introduces a Style Edition II with a new Imperial Blue Metallic color scheme. A limited "K 1600 Edition" batch run features a black-and-yellow seat bench with yellow wheel tape. The Option 719 program gains a new Frozen Brooklyn Grey Metallic finish.
Across the touring and adventure models, BMW Motorrad adds a new Touring Package that bundles left and right case holders, central locking, and a center stand. The Comfort Package receives expanded content, and USB charging ports are now included in both the Dynamic Package and Edition M Sport on applicable models. The Style Edition M Sport introduces a new Blackstorm Metallic / M Motorsport color option, complemented by a tinted windscreen and M Forged Wheels.
The model year 2027 updates reflect BMW Motorrad's strategy of refreshing its portfolio through targeted specification upgrades rather than full model changes, offering customers increased personalization options across its range of sport, touring, and adventure motorcycles.
