A 61-year-old male patient has gone missing from North District Hospital in Hong Kong, prompting a police search and a public appeal for information from the Hospital Authority.
The patient left an Orthopaedics and Traumatology ward at around 1:30am on Sunday, June 14, without notifying hospital staff, according to a spokesperson for North District Hospital. Security personnel immediately searched the hospital compound and surrounding area but were unable to locate him.
The hospital informed the patient's family shortly after the disappearance and requested assistance from the Hong Kong Police.
The patient is described as approximately 1.7 metres tall with a tall, thin build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a patient uniform and black slippers at the time he left the ward.
North District Hospital has appealed to members of the public who may have seen the patient or know of his whereabouts to contact the police or call the hospital's dedicated hotline at 2683 7091.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office through the Advance Incident Reporting System. The hospital urged anyone with information to contact police or the hospital hotline.
