OnePlus is reportedly developing an entirely new smartphone product line for the Indian market, marking a significant strategic shift for the brand as it pushes deeper into the budget segment.
According to a tipster on X, the new lineup will be called the OnePlus N series, with devices priced under INR 20,000 (approximately $209). This places it below the mid-range Nord series and the flagship roster, making it OnePlus most affordable product line to date.
The OnePlus N series will reportedly comprise multiple smartphones tailored for different price tiers within the sub-INR 20,000 bracket. This positions the N series in direct competition with established budget brands including Redmi, Realme, and Poco, all of which dominate the entry-level segment in India.
The debut is expected to happen in July 2026, meaning the first OnePlus N smartphones could be just weeks away from an official announcement. More details are expected to surface in the coming weeks as the launch approaches.
The move reflects a broader trend among premium smartphone brands seeking volume growth in emerging markets. India remains one of the worlds largest and fastest-growing smartphone markets, with the sub-$200 segment accounting for a significant share of total shipments.
OnePlus has been gradually expanding its product reach over the past two years, moving from a flagship-only strategy to include mid-range Nord devices. The addition of an entry-level N series suggests the brand sees untapped opportunity in the budget tier, where high-volume sales can offset thinner margins.
No specifications have been confirmed for the N series devices. Given the price point, expect mid-range chipsets, LCD or entry-level AMOLED displays, and cameras optimised for everyday use rather than flagship-level imaging.
