Toyota Motor North America Posts 10.1% June Sales Growth; Electrified Vehicles Surge 35% to 57.4% of Total Mix
PLANO, Texas — Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) reported June 2026 U.S. sales of 212,793 vehicles, a 10.1% increase on a volume basis and 5.7% growth on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis compared to the same month last year, the company announced Wednesday.
Sales of electrified vehicles — including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery electrics, and fuel cells — reached 122,063 units in June, surging 35.0% on a volume basis and 29.6% on a DSR basis. Electrified vehicles now account for 57.4% of Toyota total monthly sales volume, reflecting accelerating consumer adoption across the Toyota and Lexus lineups.
For the second quarter of 2026, TMNA reported total sales of 673,971 vehicles, up 1.1% on both a volume and DSR basis versus the same period in 2025. Electrified vehicle sales for the quarter totaled 383,091 units, a 19.5% increase, representing 56.8% of total quarterly sales volume.
The Toyota division posted June sales of 183,627 vehicles, up 11.2% on a volume basis and 6.8% on a DSR basis. For the quarter, Toyota division sales reached 585,211 vehicles, up 2.6%. The division achieved an all-time best-ever electrification mix of 61.4% in the quarter, with electrified vehicle sales of 345,791 units — a 21.1% increase. The RAV4 Hybrid posted an all-time best sales month.
The Lexus division reported June sales of 29,166 vehicles, up 3.9% on a volume basis — achieving an all-time best-ever June — though down 0.3% on a DSR basis. Second-quarter Lexus sales totaled 88,760 vehicles, down 7.5%. Lexus electrified vehicle sales for the quarter reached 37,300 units, up 6.5%.
“Our second-quarter results reflect continued momentum across the Toyota and Lexus lineups,” said Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of the Automotive Operations Group at TMNA. “Strong demand and disciplined inventory management have fueled consistent gains versus a year ago, and accelerating interest in our electrified vehicles — with month-over-month growth throughout the quarter — reinforces that our multi-pathway approach is resonating.”
Gilleland noted that the company commitment to affordability, with a broad range of vehicles starting under $35,000, positions Toyota to “expand access to electrification while delivering value across every powertrain.”
TMNA now offers 33 electrified vehicle options across both the Toyota and Lexus brands, among the broadest electrified portfolios in the industry, while maintaining among the lowest incentive spending among full-line manufacturers.
