Samsung Unveils Industry-First 6K Gaming Monitor with Next-Gen Odyssey and ViewFinity Lineup

Date:

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the global availability of its latest Odyssey gaming monitors and ViewFinity S8 lineup, highlighted by the industry's first 6K gaming monitor. The new lineup sets new benchmarks in resolution and performance across both gaming and professional displays.

Odyssey G8: Industry-First 6K Gaming Monitor

The flagship 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS model) marks a significant milestone as the world's first 6K gaming monitor, delivering a substantial leap beyond current 4K gaming standards. This ultra-high resolution provides exceptional visual clarity and detail, enhancing immersion while offering expanded screen space for both gaming and multitasking.

The G80HS delivers ultra-high 6K resolution at 165Hz, while Dual Mode technology enables up to 330Hz at 3K resolution, allowing gamers to seamlessly balance immersive visual details with ultra-fast responsiveness depending on the game.

Alongside the flagship model, Samsung introduced the 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF model), offering flexible performance options including 5K resolution at 180Hz or up to 360Hz in QHD through Dual Mode, making it suitable for both immersive story-driven and competitive gaming scenarios.

OLED Innovation Expands

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH model), available in both 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, features a premium OLED panel with 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. Samsung's Glare Free technology significantly reduces on-screen reflections without compromising OLED picture quality. The monitor adopts QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology, which enhances efficiency, durability, and brightness significantly.

The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 also received VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, delivering OLED's signature deep blacks and vivid colors for an exceptional HDR gaming experience. Connectivity options include USB-C with up to 98W charging, supporting high-performance gaming setups.

Odyssey G7: Expanding OLED Access

The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH model) expands Samsung's OLED gaming lineup by bringing premium visual performance to a broader range of users. All models in the 2026 Odyssey lineup feature DisplayPort 2.1 for high-bandwidth performance, AMD FreeSync Premium, and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technology for smooth, tear-free gameplay. HDR10+ GAMING support dynamically optimizes brightness and contrast in real time.

ViewFinity S8: Professional-Grade Displays

Alongside the gaming lineup, Samsung also launched the ViewFinity S8 27-inch (S80UD model), designed for creative professionals. It offers 5K resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate and delivers 98% DCI-P3 color coverage, supporting vivid, accurate color reproduction. The display features Thunderbolt 4 connectivity with up to 98W charging and a built-in color calibration engine for consistent color accuracy.

This launch comes amid Samsung's continued leadership in the global gaming monitor market, where the company holds an 18.9 percent revenue share. Samsung has also earned the No. 1 position in the OLED gaming monitor market for the third consecutive year with a 26 percent share, according to International Data Corporation (IDC).

"With the launch of the latest Odyssey and ViewFinity lineups, we continue to push the boundaries of performance and visual quality," said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "With our 2026 lineup, we are delivering our most advanced display technologies yet while expanding access, enabling more users to experience Samsung's innovations across gaming and professional environments."

With the industry's first 6K gaming monitor and expanded OLED options, Samsung's 2026 monitor lineup represents a significant step forward for both gamers and creative professionals seeking cutting-edge display technology.
